A token symbol is not unique. ERC-20 describes a common interface for balances, supply, transfers and allowances. Name, symbol and decimals are metadata; they can be copied or misleading. Verify the exact contract against the issuer’s official sources.
On-chain balances are integers. Decimals define their display scale: with 6 decimals, 1,000,000 base units display as 1 token. Minting creates units and burning removes units according to contract rules. Neither operation proves a monetary value.
Published source code helps compare a contract with what was deployed. It is not a security audit or a guarantee of honest ownership. Check permissions to mint, pause, blacklist or upgrade. CryptoVex labels inspected contracts unverified rather than inferring trust from a name.
