Transactions are grouped into blocks. Each block refers to its predecessor, creating an ordered history. Nodes run software that checks network rules and shares information. Validators participate in deciding which valid blocks are added.
A chain ID identifies an EVM network. Ethereum mainnet is 1; BNB Smart Chain is 56. BSC Testnet is 97. A matching address format does not move funds between these networks. Mainnet uses real assets; testnet is for experiments.
RPC is the interface an app uses to ask a node for data. An explorer adds indexing and search around blockchain records. Results depend on the network and the provider’s availability; an unavailable response is not a zero balance.
